Dr. Howard Kushner is an Honors graduate of SUNY Albany and The New York State College of Optometry in Manhattan. He has been at Family Vision Care Center for ten years and previous to that worked on Long Island and in Latham as a Behavioral Optometrist.

Dr. Kushner specializes in Behavioral Optometry and is an area expert in Vision Therapy.  He works closely with school district Occupational Therapists and parents in assisting students with learning-related vision disorders.

Dr. Kushner is NYS Licensed to treat and manage eye disease and provides comprehensive eye health examinations to all ages from children and young adults to senior citizens.

Dr. Kushner resides in the Albany area with his wife and two sons.

Dr. Robert Ruggiero is an Honors graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he later served several days as a Professor.   Dr. Ruggiero was recently appointed to the Faculty of Albany Medical College and divides his time between our office in Saratoga and Albany.  He is actively working with the Veterans Administration Hospital in setting up the area’s first Low Vision Clinic.

Dr. Ruggiero is NYS Licensed in the management and treatment of eye disease and has many years of experience in providing comprehensive eye health examinations to all age groups.

Dr. Ruggiero resides in Saratoga Springs with his wife.  They have two children currently attending University.

Susan is a NYS and Nationally Licensed Optician in addition to being a Fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry.  She is a member of the New York State Society of Opticians and the Contact Lens Society of America.

Susan started in the optical industry in 1985, after working several years for Dr. William Ling; Susan purchased his practice when he retired in 1997.

Susan has maintained the same standard of care established by Dr. Ling over 50 years ago, providing patients with personal care and old fashioned private practice care.  While at the same time updating equipment and office systems to stay abreast of changes and trends in the eye care industry.
